Paprika Bistro - Restaurants Victoria
Paprika's True Flavour

This small locally-owned bistro located in Estevan Village in Oak Bay initially presents a contemporary European feel. The banana peel yellow and oxblood red walls bring a warm and seductive glow to the three-roomed restaurant. Soft music, fresh-cut flowers and hurricane candles add romance, while rich paintings and heavy textiles ensure elegance. Most importantly, the smells of a much-anticipated fine dining experience waft throughout the entire restaurant inviting patrons to partake in an incredible gastronomic occasion.

While the Pacific Northwest menu at Paprika is limited, it’s not difficult to see that the owners pride themselves on quality, not quantity. Fresh, local ingredients are used in all dishes and may even be grown in George’s own garden, depending on what you order. House favourites include the Grilled House Made Sausage with grainy mustard & assorted pickles, as well as the Seared Breast of Duck with caramelized apple. Paprika makes all of its own ice cream and sorbet on-site, and serves the self-proclaimed best crème brûlée in town. Paprika portions are medium for a fine dining establishment and entrées start at $21.95.

To accompany its unique and beautifully-presented dishes, Paprika has a wide and worldly wine list. However, this eatery stays true to its roots by also supporting local award-winning Vancouver Island vintners including Newton Ridge of Saanichton and Venturi-Shulze of Cobble Hill.

Paprika Bistro serves up more than just enjoyable food and exceptional wine. It’s a local eating place that prides itself on the true definition of “family restaurant.” The owner, also the Executive Chef, still takes the time to glad-hand his patrons during their evening meals and ensure that his creations have met their expectations. Paprika Bistro is a resident restaurant where guests can go to enjoy a meal that tastes like it’s cooked by family with love.
